Yurlu | Country has picked up the Best Festival Category Award: The Edge of Impact at the 20th Doc Edge Festival Awards at its International Premiere in New Zealand.
In an emotional acceptance speech, Director & Producer Yaara Bou Melhem dedicated the award to co-creator and protagonist Maitland Parker, who sadly passed away during the making of the film.
Category description: Films that showcase the power of human actions to make a positive difference in our world through inspiring stories of indigenous wisdom, rebel warriors, environmental conservation, climate change, and wildlife protection.
Doc Edge continues to screen across New Zealand, with Yurlu | Country coming soon to Christchurch and Wellington.
